My Friend

Created by Samantha one year ago

Where to start?  There are too many times, years of fun times and difficult times for us both but you were a constant friend, and I hope I was too.  We managed to keep in touch no matter where you were in the world. You lit up a room with your cheeky smile, and infectious laugh.  We had some fun times, doing the mundane such as a simple walk in the wild or singing along to wartime favorites at a proms in the park picnic. I remember how over enthusiastic you got with the singing and waving your Union Jack brolly up and down that you slammed it down straight through my picnic plate!!  Ever the gentleman you replaced not just one but all four.  When my daughter moved to University in Falmouth and I told you how she was so anxious to be so far from home, you offered to be her port in a storm should she need it.  That was you Ollie, so generous, caring and unbelievably thoughtful. You did in fact offer her shelter in a storm, a raging Cornish storm on her way home from work one time. I am going to miss our lunches and beach walks and the laughter at one of your outrageously inappropriate stories but most of all I am going to miss you my friend.

Sleep well my friend.

With love Sammy xx
